Mtg sek kuar lands1/21/2024 ![]() Hopefully my post inspired you a little to look in different places. The lands-package is probably too heavy at the moment, but I want to see what works and what doesn't. There's no reason to play Yidris really, except for the fact it gives access to those four colors. Wincon probably in the form of ] and ], backed up by ]. Redundancy through ], ], ] and ].īig/value creatures in the form of ], Hypno-toad, ], ], ], and ]. Back it up with ] and ] for some extra carddraw. Then a combination of ], ], ], ], ], ], ], ], ], ], ], ], ] and ] to dump a ton of land in play. ] for some easy/cheap blockers and a couple of sweepers. Stax through ], ], ], ] and ].Ĭontrol package is quite light (probably too much so). Not sure what it's going to look like, but something like this: I'm in the process of building Yidris Stax/Land-control. Play a few tutors and all the colorless ways to deal with enchantments and artifacts and there's hardly a way to stop you (getting an Oblivion Stone in your opponents' graveyard is the best thing ever). No deck is more versatile than the deck that can steal the bread and butter of 3 of his opponents' decks. Weird stax strategies? Steal all their mana rocks. Commander gets destroyed? No problem at all, mana is your main business. Your own stuff gets wiped? Not really a problem, you're playing black, just reanimate it. Creatures get wiped? Great, you get a chance to control them all. Graveyards get wiped? Just destroy a creature and start refilling them. And how many decks have you played against that have both a low creature and artifact count? Between multiple opponents, there's always something to target and keep things going.Īnd after you've tired of 99 lands and Geth, you remove 55 lands, add ALL of black's big mana stuff to the deck, a bunch of sac outlets and a few walls, and you've just made an ok deck into a great deck. So Sek'Kuar fills in as a Genesis Chamber / Pawn of Ulamog replacement, and an outlet for infinite mana / grave triggers. His ability is self-fueling and gets better the longer the game goes on. The reason Sek'Kuar is a great general is because he actual fills in for other pieces on the combo's and turns infinite grave triggers into infinite hasted tokens, leading to a same turn win. ] always gets skipped over in these types of threads, and it annoys me greatly. took 5 turns for him, played 2 per turn, just kinda chilled. It was just as awesome as you can believe. However, I did once play a game called Gitrog and the 99 Lands. I typically see half (or more!!) of my deck in a game.Įdit: so not all lands, because I can't read. ] is good.Įverytime I pull him out, I'm super fucking hype. There's also cycling lands and I'm working on adding utility lands, such as ] and a few others. With him, I like to play ], ], ], ], ], ], ], ], ], and a bunch of ramp spells. He's one of the more powerful decks in my playgroup! I think my deck only cost about $70. One of my friends purchased him and he's magical imo. I'm relatively new to MTG and all I wanted to do was play lands. ![]()
